A grand old sycamore tree once stood tall and proud.
The girth of the tree was enormous with a diameter of over six feet and the base of the tree still stands a foot or two out of the ground. It is believed to have been at least many hundreds of years old.
Out of the death and fall of the grand old tree, came the beginning of life for multiple new trees. Small tree saplings began growing at the base.
Those saplings are now six very large trees themselves, some twenty to fifty years old and they grow taller and larger each year around the base of the fallen grand old sycamore.
